The Oswin Lodge

The new Oswin, 5 Star Platinum Lodge at Vindomora Country Lodges offers guests, luxurious accommodation, amazing elevated views and a separate private access, all set in tranquil surroundings on the banks of the River Derwent in Northumberland.

The lodge derives its name from the Northumbrian King, Oswin who was said to have been born at the site of the Roman Fort, Arbeia which is the name of the neighbouring one bedroom lodge to this one and shares the private entrance.
Arbeia stood at the entrance to the River Tyne at modern day South Shields and guarded the main sea route to Hadrians Wall.

The nearby Roman Wall was built on the orders of the Roman Emperor Hadrian in AD122 and in 1987, Hadrian’s Wall was made into a UNESCO World Heritage Site and therefore is acknowledged as a site of outstanding value to humanity

In the Oswin Lodge you will find a Super King bed, 2 single beds which can also be made into a Super King size and a bed settee offering accommodation for 6 persons.
Included for your comfort will be a private Hot Tub; a real log stove with an initial, complimentary basket of logs; a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and separate freezer, hob and oven: bed linen, towels and robes. We even do robes for the children (5-12 yrs).
The Lodge will also have complimentary toiletries, including hand wash, body lotion, shampoo and shower gel, as well as Complimentary Twinnings Tea, Nespresso Coffee and sugar sachets.
