Our Housesteads Lodge at Vindomora Country Lodges offers luxurious accommodation in tranquil surroundings in Northumberland on the banks of the River Derwent.
This lodge derives its name from a Roman Fort, Housesteads, located on the nearby Roman Wall built on the orders of the Roman Emperor Hadrian in AD122. In 1987, Hadrian’s Wall was made into a UNESCO World Heritage Site and therefore is acknowledged as a site of outstanding value to humanity. Housesteads Fort, which is only forty minutes drive from our lodges, is the most complete example of a Roman Fort in Britain and was built within a decade of AD122.
In your lodge you will find a double bed, 2 single beds which can be made into a Super King size and a bed settee offering accommodation for 6 persons.
Included for your comfort and convenience is a private, covered Hot Tub to relax in and a real log stove with an initial, complimentary basket of logs; a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and separate freezer, hob and oven: bed linen, towels and robes. We even do robes for the children (5-12 yrs).
Each Lodge also has complimentary toiletries, including hand wash, shampoo and shower gel.
