Vindomora Country Lodges are located just outside of Ebchester, on the banks of the River Derwent
in historic Northumberland, near to the border with County Durham..
We are close to Consett, the third highest market town in England, sitting on the edge of the North Pennines AONB, where you will find numerous shops and places to eat, as well as activities for the children. To the north west is Corbridge and Hexham, two beautiful towns steeped in history and close to the Roman Wall. A little further north, just over an hour away is Jedburgh, a former burgh in the Scottish Borders.
Our lodges also offer easy access to the historic Northumberland Coast and trips to Holy Island,
Bamburgh (named Which? Best Coastal Destination) & it's beautiful Castle,
Seahouses and Alnwick Castle are popular with our guests.
Go walking in the North Pennines AONB or the Northumberland National Park and discover more!
Want retail therapy?
We are only 20 minutes away from the Metro Centre with all its shops, restaurants and cinema,
which in turn is close to Newcastle with the Theatre and Arts.
Beamish, Living Museum of the North is close at hand too!
In partnership with Beamish Museum, we offer a 25% discount for our guests who buy an Individual Beamish Unlimited Pass.
Visit the 1930's town, ride on a steam train, go down a mine, or go back to school using chalk and slate.
Or why not jump on an old tram and look out for Les, my uncle who drives them!
Don't forget, Durham Cathedral and Durham Castle, again only 20 minutes away,
Visit boutique shops, numerous restaurants, or the smallest pub, the Tin of Sardines!
Then there's Bowes Museum, Locomotion and the amazing High Force in the nearby beautiful Durham Dales.
