The Chesters Lodge

Our Chesters Lodge at Vindomora Country Lodges is our Premium Lodge, fitted with more luxurious furnishings and the option to have two super king size beds.

The Chesters Lodge offers luxurious accommodation in tranquil surroundings in Northumberland on the banks of the River Derwent and commands beautiful views of the nearby countryside. This lodge can also accommodate up to 2 dogs so bring your pets along too and enjoy the many local walks.
The Chesters Lodge derives its name from the nearby Roman Cavalry Fort of Cilurnum or Cilurvum on Hadrians Wall, which is now identified as Chesters. It was built in AD123 near to the village of Walwick in Northumberland. Cilurnum is considered to be the best preserved Roman Cavalry Fort along Hadrian’s Wall and is preserved by English Heritage.
Hadrian’s Wall was built on the orders of the Roman Emperor Hadrian in AD122 and was made into a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 and therefore is acknowledged as a site of outstanding value to humanity.
In the Chesters Lodge you will find a Super King bed, 2 single beds which can also be made into a Super King bed and a bed settee offering accommodation for 6 persons.
Included for your comfort and convenience is a private Hot Tub to relax in and a real log stove with an initial, complimentary basket of logs; a Nespresso Coffee Machine with initial supply of Coffee Pods, a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge and separate freezer, hob and oven: bed linen, towels and robes. We even do robes for the children (5-12 yrs). A Portable Bluetooth Speaker, as well as a DAB Radio
Each Lodge also has complimentary toiletries, including hand wash, shampoo and shower gel.
